Yokai[]

Doppo's full yokai appearance as revealed by a clone.
As revealed by a clone created by Tamagawa, Doppo's yokai form is that of a furry head, dark skin humanoid with a right eye hole, two flames constantly emitting from the top, which seemingly take on the form of antlers, and sharp nails. The coat Doppo wears is also altered to become dark in color and his shirt disappears to have him bare chested.
Personality[]
— Doppo's announcement to the Enma Syndicate[1] |

Doppo's reaction after sensing someone's fear.
Doppo has a deep, eccentric passion for fear, believing that to a yokai such as himself that the emotion is equivalent to art, the kind of art that is flashy and eye-catching, and praises all the ways humans have conveyed it in their entertainment media, which inspired him to do the same by creating artwork that focuses on horror.[2] As a result of this passion, Doppo developed a sixth sense to where he is aware of fear within people's words even if they desperately try to hide it from him, which helps to perceive whether others are lying to him. This was shown when he knew right away that Hashihime was lying to him about not knowing Urara and Maruo. Depsite all of this, Doppo feels as though he has not fully grasped the concept of fear yet and believes that his art is lacking. His underlings daring to defy the Enma Syndicate would also give him enough evidence that he is not fearful enough, which would prompt him to act threatening from time to time.

Doppo's artworks of Ayashimon body parts.
Doppo is extremely sadistic, ruthless, and morbid, as his preferred style as an artist is to piece together body parts of Ayashimons while they are still functioning. Though he finds this aesthetic to be beautiful, he is completely aware of the fact it is extremely twisted and a form of cruel and unusual punishment as he uses this to be a perfect way to take revenge on Ayashimon who have wronged him rather than outright kill them since yokai find death to be meaningless given how they can live on through their spirits. Rather than torture his targets to extract information from them, Doppo finds that the most effective way of interrogation is to inflict enough pain onto someone close to the target and have them watch until their spirit is completely broken from fear.
He is shown to be a very cautious individual. Though he doesn't take trivial matters seriously, Doppo gives them his full attention if he suspects that they are responsible for major events occurring, such as two unknown Shinjuku immigrants having something to do with Shinjuku Gyoen's unplanned renovation.[3] He can also be very suspicious of people if they are somehow connected.
However, Doppo is also shown to have a reckless side as well. With the amount of effort he took to try and eliminate both Maruo and Urara, such as creating a blizzard from the sky, Doppo would later figure that what he had done may end up causing the Onmyo Bureau to not look the other way towards his actions. Despite being warned by Ungaikyo that unleashing his true power to eliminate Urara would definitely cause the Onmyo Bureau to appear at the scene, Doppo ignored the risk without any sign of hesitation, even if it meant his actions would end up starting a war in Kabukicho.
As the leader of the Enma Syndicate, Doppo prioritizes on strengthening the syndicate's reputation and does so by installing his passion for fear into the organization, believing that this is the only way his gang will gain respect among the citizens and gangsters of Shinjuku.[4] Based on Hashihime's perspective, Doppo is seen as being a far more vicious leader of the Enma Syndicate than his predecessor.[5] He does not tolerate insubordination from his underlings and is not hesitant on punishing them by including them in his art collection.
Synopsis[]
History[]
At some point after the death of chairman Kio, Doppo was appointed to be his successor as the next leader of the Enma Syndicate. Under his leadership, the Enma Syndicate became reformed into an even more vicious yakuza group than what it was in the past.
Vs. Doppo Arc[]
- Main article: Vs. Doppo Arc

Doppo putting out an order to the Enma Syndicate to eliminate Urara and Maruo.
After receiving word from the Onmyo Bureau about two illegal immigrants entering Shinjuku, followed by information about an unplanned renovation by the Shinjuku Gyo-en Greenhouse's, Doppo orders his underlings to have Hashihime brought in for questioning, thinking that she may be aware of these events since she is the border guardian. Hashihime answers to Doppo that she doesn't know anything about the two undocumenteds. However, Doppo senses fear coming from Hashihime's words and believes that she is hiding something from him. Thinking that he hasn't made her fear him enough, Doppo presents his art pieces of functioning yokai parts and tells Hashihime that he will include her in his collection with Mizuha's help. Hashihime begs for Doppo to spare her since she has been of service to the Enma Syndicate for years and is cut short of her justification after Doppo reacts negatively to hearing her speak Kio's name. Doppo dismisses his actions as a joke, saying that he wanted to appear threatening to her, and looks to see Hashihime and Mizuha frozen in place. He then finds out the cause is Number 11 of the Onmyo Bureau who created a barrier to deliver the photos of the two undocumenteds to Doppo in private. However, after Doppo's executives start to move inside the barrier, the agent quickly drops off the photos and makes his leave. After taking a look at the photos of the two undocumenteds, Doppo shows them to Hashihime, still suspicious of her, and hears her sticking to her previous answer. Not wanting to kill Hashihime due to her knowing more about the syndicate, Doppo decides to transfer her away from her post at Shinjuku Gyoen. With all the members of the Enma Syndicate gathered outside, Doppo announces his plan to have the gangs of Shinjuku fear the syndicate and orders them to find and eliminate the two undocumenteds to make them public examples.
Using Ungaikyo's mirror, Doppo manages to find the two undocumenteds named Urara and Maruo. Upon getting a good look at her in person, Doppo comments on how she will make a perfect piece and introduces himself. After being told by Urara that she and her companions were only looking around the premises, Doppo requests to her to look down at his parked car to give her opinion on the interior and smiles after seeing her shocked reaction to noticing a restrained Hashihime inside, revealing to him that the two are connected. Having gotten his answer, Doppo orders his men to capture the others that are with Urara while he personally takes her with him. Upon getting close enough to Urara, Doppo notices a suspicious smell coming from her and looks to see Maruo cracking his neck. He is then punched in the face by him after Urara's subordinate reacted to the chairman placing his hands on his boss but is unfazed after instantly recovering and grabs ahold of his fist. Doppo becomes impressed that Maruo possesses incredible strength for a human and realizes the roles he and Urara play. After setting Maruo's hand on fire to have him back away, Doppo decides on only taking Urara away and getting rid of Maruo since he has no interest in him.

Doppo overwhelming Maruo.
Doppo avoids Maruo's charged attack and releases his flames to take away the body heat from the human's legs, causing him to fall down and unable to move. He then brutally beats him while he is down with the intention of breaking Urara's spirits by having her watch as her ally gets tortured before her eyes. After Maruo regains movement from his blood warming him up, Doppo is blinded by his blood and has the left side of his face destroyed after Maruo lands a punch. Despite the damage, Doppo pays it no mind as he easily regenerates the missing portion of his face and blows a breath of fire on him.

Doppo shocked to discover that Urara is Kio's daughter.
With Maruo down, Doppo draws his attention to Urara, declaring to her that he will make her fear the Enma Syndicate so that she may never return to Kabukicho. Urara then pulls out a tanto to defend herself from Doppo. After recognizing the tanto's sheath, Doppo shockingly receives confirmation that Urara is Kio's daughter and sheds a tear shortly after. He then walks away from her and orders his men to shoot her, stating that she is worthless since her identity was kept a secret, but turns around to see Maruo back on his feet to quickly return to Urara's side. Doppo tells Maruo that he does not wish to waste his time dealing with him, only for Maruo to demand that he continue fighting him since he found him to be his strongest opponent.
As Maruo continues to get in his way targeting Urara, Doppo hears Ten suggesting to her to use this as an opportunity to make a run for it and prevents them from doing so by creating a blizzard surrounding the roof. After Urara accidently let's go of her tanto, Doppo blocks her from retrieving it and gets ready to attack her. However, he is once again hindered by Maruo who continues to endure his attacks. Annoyed with him, Doppo brings down a large piece of hail to crush him. Though he manages to break out, Doppo sees Maruo fall unconscious before he gets another chance to punch him, much to his relief. With Maruo and the situation being too much that it might concern the Onmyo Bureau, Doppo decides on ending things quick and reaches for Urara's knife. However, he sees it missing and in Ten's hands, who releases it from its sheath to unleash Urara's yokai form.

Doppo taking down Hashihime.
Seeing Urara trying to make an escape with both Maruo, Ten, and Hashihime, Doppo first drops down a large amount of fire upon them and brings out his mask, stating that he refuses to allow Urara to survive even if it means the Onmyo Bureau arriving to the scene or starting an all-out war in Kabukicho. He is then attacked by Hashihime who tries to hold him off until Urara retreats. Doppo fights back and questions Hashihime on if the side she's fighting on is the right one since Urara had inherited nothing from Kio and that he believes her father abandoned her, to which she replies that his second justification is not true. Doppo then defeats Hashihime after creating a few large icicles to pierce her body.
Kori Hotel Arc[]
After two weeks had passed since confronting the Urara Family, Doppo begins to initiate his plan of having the Enma Syndicate take over Kabukicho. After ruthlessly eliminating a few senior members, Doppo meets with the mayor of Shinjuku.
Abilities and Powers[]
As chairman, Doppo has absolute power over the Enma Syndicate.
Yojutsu[]
Hitorima Physiology:
- Heat-Absorbing Flames: As a hitorima, Doppo's body is made entirely out of flames that have the effect of absorbing heat from his targets, or other sources of fire around. As such, he is impervious to any form of physical attacks from his enemies, as they simply pass right through him. The damaged area then reforms back to its original form afterwards. Due to the low temperature drop caused by these flames when made contact, Doppo is able to freeze anything or anyone, similar to powers of cryo-pyrokinesis. By targeting his opponent's feet with these flames, or engulf their entire body, Doppo can disable and attack them while they're down on the ground. The numbness is only rendered temporary if the opponent's body somehow warms back up, such as being covered in their own blood. However, even if they regain back their mobility after defrosting, the strength of Doppo's opponents will not return fully due to the expansion of water in cells shredding all the cellular walls inside the body. By emitting a huge amount of fire from his entire body that reaches the sky, Doppo can summon a blizzard that circles around him and his enemies as a result of lowering the temperature in the air. While in his domain, Doppo can prevent his enemies from escaping, slowly freeze them from the low temperature (though this also ends up effecting his allies as well), and bring down large blocks of hail to crush them. Doppo can also generate ice from his body to attack his opponents. Using his arms, Doppo can create a large chuck of ice to use as a blunt weapon and shoot shards of icicles to pierce his targets.
- Yobimizu (よびみず Yobimizu?): A hitorima's secret technique where the yokai is able to conjure up a black liquid substance from their bodies that has the properties of "extinguishing the light" from a living being once completely soaked, causing them to be on the verge of death. Doppo is able to access this power through his yokai form. According to Kotton, Doppo is limited to using this ability only once in battle.
Other Skills[]
Artistry: Doppo has a skilled artistic ability but considers himself an amateur. His main aesthetic is using Ayashimon body parts that are still functioning to express his passion for fear, with assistance from Mizuha. He is also skilled in creating graphic ink paintings.
Equipment[]
Mask: As an Ayashimon, Doppo has a mask that contains his yokai form and powers, and once put on, will be granted back to him. His mask is shown to have a flaming wreath design.
